telus blackberry pearl 8130 pink

so, mostly because my bff said she already has it, i bought this phone today! good bye to my giant, clunky, ridiculous pocket pc. at the very least, this can just be a basic phone that has a few more bells and whistles and at best, maybe hold some or all (if i buy an additional microcard) of the actual work related stuff i’d like to have available.

i know that there are learning curves with any electronic device, but i must say, i’ve never had an actual blackberry before and already i’m sort of going “huh?”

i’ve got 30 days to shange my mind…. wish me luck, i’m goin’ in!

if you do not already listen to this show on your npr station (to which you DO subscribe, right??) or receive it on podcast, then you are truly missing out.

lincoln-memorial

kurt anderson does a weekly show, organized around a theme of some sort, must usually some artist, great thinker or talent from a genre commenting on the various pieces included around the main topic. it is always interesting, entertaining and thought provoking, frequently funny, often touching.

the most recent episode to come across my podcatcher is a part of studio 360’s american icon series: the lincoln memorial. you may think that sounds ridiculous or boring to have a nearly one hour show about the lincoln memorial, but it is fabulous. a perfect example of what makes this show so awesome. and it contains commentary from the fabulous sarah vowell - did you read her book, “assassination vacation“? i downloaded it a couple years ago (a: i was doing a lot of driving, and b: who doesn’t love to hear her voice??!!?)
