it just keeps getting weirder

when i came down the stairs today, they were like this: 

 

 

so i rearranged…..

today

running errands today and accomplishing quite a bit. quite a bit EXCEPT of course getting on the treadmill or going outside for the only type of exertion that is going to shake the 20 pounds driving me up the wall and down again off my fat ass. and now i’ve got a head ache, my neck/shoulder/arm thingy is hurting (i will update sometime soon as to whats up with that situation), and i am just cranky cranky.

but there have been bright sides to the day!

• took the computer in to the geek squad for some questions and 3.5 hours and $120 later, got triple the RAM and a bit o’ disc clean up leaving with a brand new bouncing baby computer! that loads up in like one minute! instead of (literally) 10! praise jesus and whomever else! woot!
• even though i haven’t exercised – other than my PT (which i am now doing for possible rotator cuff v. residual disc issues [intrigued???]), my diet today -except for waiting too long to have my first meal – has been refreshingly balanced and sane. and satisfying. it’s always about diet for me.
• the bunny project continues to make me smile, as somebody (i notice that i think of it as one person, not many) is playing along. witness the configuration this am:      

             and side note- peeps remain amazingly supple, though filth covered,              when kept uncovered in a damp, cool environment.

ok. i’m home from work now and am off for the weekend! woot! trying to catch up on all my blog reading and prepare for catching up on blogging of my own…. so here is just a little awesomeness until i decide to sit back in front of the computer again tomorrow:

• thanks to derek, whose wife is coming tovisit virginia next month (wootie woo!), i have now seen this:    
• maggie mae is doing ok on her meds. however, she seems to have developed a weird case of kleptomania. she is not a dog who has ever chewed things up or any shenanigans like that – although she will, on rare occasion, steal and eat a chapstick or other such emollient product. in the last 2 weeks or so she has taken to carrying my bedside night time lipglosses about the house (but not eating or chewing them), digging into my purse and plucking out items and carrying them about and, last but not least, grabbing the ENTIRE bottle of my new pain meds and gnawing on the child proof plastic cap 4 feet from my whilst giving me a “you lookin’ at me??!” look out of her wee, beady little eyes

the bunny project

you know from my interest in bananas and baja bugs. well, the banana was removed sometime night before last. why now? i mean after several months of moldering, what suddenly inspired someone to pick it up.

i am inspired myself to begin a piece of performance and location art. i will not be daunted by those who try and clean or eliminate this personal statement about man’s inhumanity to man. it started yesterday:

as you can see, this will be a work in progress. at the rate the sanitation department works in my garage, i feel that this timely and important work will grow and develop for monthsa to come.

things i love

• the sound and fury of maggie’s feet when i say “bedtime” and she thinks i have a treat to give her and she bolts for the bed
• the slightly musty smell of all the old clothes in mamie’s closet. clothes i still rummage thru and peek at like i did when i was 9 and they were all so fancy and sparkly
• italy
• lieing under a hot hot sun with a slight breeze and good music in my ears
• remembering someones birthday. before their birthday.
• my mom’s lasagna
• the white album
• playing with make up and wearing too much black eye pencil inside the rim of the eye – glamour don’ts be damned!
• staying up all night laughing and kissing
• the smell of stargazer lilies
• seeing new orleans square at disneyland at night
• remembering saturdays with my family on durant street circa 1977
• lots of pillows
• holding someones hand in the OR
• finishing a tough crossword puzzle
• waiting to hear an episode of “those darn cats” that jennifer produced
• picturing my little brother drawing a face on his chin and hanging upside down on the stairs and talking silly
• eating a divinely fabulous meal with a special someone
• listening to NPR on a brisk but sunny sunday morning. english breakfast tea as a side

• finding someone with whom i can quote strange steely dan lyrics – “is there gas in the car?”
• watching the blues brothers. or star wars. again.
• surprising my guy at the airport
• rowing hard on a hot july morning
• laughing with girlfriends after too much food and maybe too much wine
• getting surprises in the mail
• watching “medium” on tivo
• hitting snooze and going back to sleep
• dreaming about my mother
